I have been autoholic all my life. As a kid, I would see a car with whitewalls and say, "Dad, look a Duesie!". I could not understand why I couldn't have a car out of the junkyard. Now that I am nearing 60, I have had quite a few and I have learned what makes a great car. I like original, low mileage examples that are reliable and a pleasure to drive. It takes much service and improvements to make a car come up to my standards. I like everything to work, look presentable, and not too nice to use. I grease and lubricate every moving part, remove all rattles, rebuild the brakes and exhaust system. Everything must be clean and shine well with no oil leaks. I like red rims and whitewall tires and bumpers that shine. I have installed many velour seat upholstery sets and carpets in my cars. I always clean and paint the floors and straighten and shine the sill plates. To me a nicely detailed engine compartment is important.
